Do We Really Need Another Candle?

I’m probably the worst salesperson ever because I don't actually want to convince you to buy something you don't need.

Do we really need another candle? Probably not!

There are already so many products being made and sold, and I’m very conscious of the amount of mass-produced stuff and waste that’s out there. I know candles aren't necessities, and I don't want Light & Align to be about buying things for the sake of it.

But I also love candles. I love making them, I love having them around the house, and if candles are your little way of treating yourself, then I'm not going to tell you not to.

Same if you've got a friend who loves candles and you've found one you know they'd love. Sometimes you just want to buy someone a nice little present.

That's really what I wanted Light & Align to be about. Making things that I'd actually look for myself in a shop. Things that are nice to have, but that don't need to be taken too seriously.

And because I’m making everything myself, I can keep it small.

I’m not producing thousands of candles and trying to convince everyone they need one. I make small batches, I make more when I need to, and I try to be sensible about what I buy and what I use.

I also try to keep the environmental side of things in mind. I use a plant-based wax, recyclable packaging where I can, as little plastic as possible, and I use compostable packing peanuts and paper tape for orders.

Is it perfect? Nope.

There’s still a jar, wax, fragrance, packaging and a journey from my little studio to your door. A candle isn't suddenly an eco-friendly product because I put it in a recyclable box.

But I think you can still make better choices where you can.

So if a candle is your treat, or you've found the one that smells exactly like your house should smell, or you know it's going to make someone's day when they open it, then I'm very happy to make it for you.

And if you don't need one, that's fine too. I won't be offended. :)
